Almost 15 years on it remains a stereo regular and loved like the day it was delivered awkwardly and self consciously into a world that didn t know what to do with it.
The songs still sound great but it s these rarely heard bonus tracks that paint a picture of how great this band once was.
It is not 180 gram nor did it come it a proper sleeve to protect it from manufacturing particles.

Pinkerton isn t too dissimilar to the blue album it s fundamentally the same in its structure they re both very catchy and have brilliant hooks the musicianship is the same they follow somewhat similar themes however pinkerton has a much darker and more personal angsty edge.

I think with a lot of albums songs pieces of music you can describe the person in the song as the narrator or the protagonist because you re not overly sure whether the person in the song or who the song is.
Hearing the full dynamic range of an album lets you hear it in a whole new way and in the case of weezer and pinkerton this vinyl me please reissue sounds astonishing.

Weezer s overlooked second album eventually became a cult favorite and now it s received a deluxe 2xcd reissue.
And largely still doesn t.
I just wish the acoustic selections were either more varied or pared down a lottttt.
It s pretty de rigeur to go on and on about the sonic benefits of vinyl over digital compact disc cassette 8 track etc but it s only when you listen to music that s been terribly compressed and limited and then hear a great pressing that it really sinks in.
